Tracey Kelty, CVT
My love and respect for animals began as a child, growing up on a hobby farm in rural Johnson Creek. On our little farm, we had dogs, cats, chickens, goats, ducks, rabbits, ponies, and a sheep (yes, only one). This childhood experience showed me that I wanted to spend a lifetime helping these animals that I love so much, and it ultimately led me to enroll in MATC's Veterinary Technician program. I graduated in 1998, and passed the State Board Exam that June. I thoroughly enjoy the work I do as a Certified Veterinary Technician, and, as your pet sitter, I look forward to helping your pets stay happy and healthy in the comfort of their own home.
Since 1999, I have lived in rural Edgerton with my husband and our two children. We share our home with four cats, one guinea pig, and our Shih Tzu named Tilly.
Vacation pet care visits and dog walking are charged based on amount of time needed, or requested, by the pet owner. If you have several pets, then plan on your pet sitter needing a longer amount of time to provide proper care along with plenty of play and cuddle time. Service is provided to clients within the Edgerton area.
If this is your first time using our services, a free consultation must be scheduled prior to start of service.
This allows the pet sitter to have an opportunity to meet with you and all animals needing care to be sure it is a good match. Upon mutual agreement, this is when we will complete any necessary paperwork, transfer keys, and go over any special instructions.
Vacation Pet Care Visit: includes giving each pet fresh food and water, taking outside for potty break and/or cleaning out litter boxes, poop scooping, playtime in fenced-in yard and/or taking for a brisk walk, and giving medication if needed. As a courtesy, we can also: collect mail, take out trash/bring in receptacle, open/close blinds or drapes, adjust climate control, water plants, and check overall security of your house. For homes with dogs, plan on at least two visits per day (maximum four).
Dog Walking: includes giving fresh food and water, and taking for a brisk walk for the requested amount of time. This service is ideal for those who work long days or are physically unable to walk their dog. It is also excellent in helping curb separation anxiety, chewing, barking, and having accidents in the house. This is also perfect for high-energy dogs that can use the extra exercise. Poop scooping always included.
Pet Taxi Service: includes picking up your pet from your home and dropping them off at the groomer, veterinarian, kennel, or wherever else your pet needs to go. We can also pick them up from any of these locations and return them to home. This service is provided at $1.50 per mile. If the pet sitter is requested to stay with the pet while at their appointment, regular rates apply based on time (see below). *Pets needing this service are approved at the discretion of Heart & Home Pet Sitting.
**All pets in our care must be current on their Rabies vaccination prior to start of service. Proof of vaccination must be provided at time of consultation.**
